In an effort to span the globe through the mission of education, Tuscaloosa Sister Cities International (TSCI) has initiated a three-year long “Connect Globally” program to provide computers to classrooms in Sunyani-Techiman, Ghana, Tuscaloosa’s West African sister city.
The first 12 (of 36 proposed) computers were recently installed, with the assistance of Every Village Computers Organization (EVCO) International, a global non-profit computer advocacy agency. The response has been overwhelming! Students, teachers, and community citizens from Sunyani-Techiman now have – for the first time ever – access to hands-on computer training, and life-changing technology. We are thrilled about the promising opportunities ahead. Our second group of computers has been purchased, with installation scheduled in June 2019!
TSCI is hoping to identify community partners to help us complete our goal of adding 12 additional computers to each lab by 2020. The cost to purchase, ship, and install each computer is approximately $1000. Would you consider sponsoring a computer in our “Connect Globally” program that would impact the lives of countless students and citizens? Each donation will be recognized as a Tuscaloosa Sister Cities International Community Partner in Sunyani-Techiman.
The need is great for educational opportunities and connectivity for students and citizens in West Africa. Thank you, sincerely, for considering becoming a community partner with Tuscaloosa Sister Cities International in the “Connect Globally” computer sponsorship program, an exciting and life-changing, community-to-community outreach endeavor.
